I am a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Southern Connecticut after having spent my entire life in California. I work in watercolor, acrylic, ceramic, mixed media sculpture. The objects and images I make are reflective of our current cultural moment. They are often concerned with the body, the grotesque, and humor. My work questions the nature of failure and elevates the oddball. I experiment with capturing the inadequacies of our collective expectations of people, places, and things. The materiality of my work is often counter to the experience of life mediated though technology and touches on the social and political. Through the examination of complex relationships, self-perception, and the unspoken hierarchies of objects I discover new ways of expressing my lived experience.
